At right is a little Goldentone suitcase amp. It has a cardboard case. and two 6GW8s working in push-pull. Replete with bass treble controls and tremelo, with a fast clear but warm as toast sound, it is a pearler. Boasting one Rola elliptical speaker for ultimate individuality of sound, it's the retro-savvy guitarist's practice amp dream.

The Aussi Vox AC30? Down here, the fabulous Goldentone dual channel amp with Hammond spring reverb and tremelo. It uses two discreet output stages with 2 x 6GW8s in each, with one channel driving the reverb spring. It can can be used as a dual channel amp of 15 watts each or 1 x 30 watts as a single - clever. The amp ran 3 x Rola 6 inch speakers for each channel.

Also shown is the total refurbishment I did on the chassis, complete with a silent brushless fan for cooling, as the amp has no venting at the top.

Interestingly 6GW8 valves were used extensively by Goldentone in many models. This valve has a unique sound - bright, warm and fast as hell. Hard to get these days and can often be found in old Australian made B&W T.V.s.
